Practice Manager

As Practice Manager at Mewies Solicitors my role is naturally varied and wide reaching.  My duties include compliance and risk management, drafting and implementing firmwide policies and procedures and managing the firm’s accreditations, including the coveted Lexcel (the Law Society’s seal of approval for well managed law firms) and CQS.

I handle facilities management which involves maintaining the beautiful Clifford House and procuring services such as insurance, electricity, photocopiers and IT; and everything else a busy law firm requires to function efficiently.  I handle recruitment and some HR matters, having recently studied for a CIPD qualification. And last but not least, I use my skills as a marketing professional to handle the firm’s advertising, sponsorship, PR and charity fundraising as well as looking after our library and research resources.

I am passionate about improving communications, both with clients and internally.  I actively seek client feedback by sending out customer feedback surveys after transactions and always do what I can to make sure we act on any feedback to constantly improve clients’ experiences of working with us.

My degree and background are in marketing, having spent 8 years in the marketing department of an international law firm in London. Prior to that I worked for a national firm of quantity surveyors, also in London.
