During your lifetime there is the distinct possibility that you will have to instruct a healthcare professional, either a General Practitioner (GP), someone at a hospital, dentist or other health professional.
When you go to see those health professionals you expect to receive the most professional standards and the highest quality of care.
Most of the time this does happen, but at times it does not.
If you have suffered because the care you have received has not been the care that should have been given to you and it was sub-standard, then you will be entitled to claim for your compensation and losses as a result of the sub-standard care caused to you.
We understand that going to the healthcare professional may have been an unpleasant experience but also that you now have to re-live that by making the claim for compensation.
We wish to make a difference for you and take the pressure away of bringing a claim against a healthcare professional.
To help you to decide whether or not you have a claim we have set out what clinical negligence is, but if you are unsure, please contact us.
What is clinical negligence?
Clinical negligence is the care that you receive when you go to any healthcare professional if the care you receive is sub-standard by the standards of other healthcare professionals of a similar standing and which causes you harm at the time you receive it. If this is the case, we will look to bring a claim for you against the healthcare professionals or their employers.
For a successful clinical negligence claim, you have to prove:
- You were owed a duty of care; and
- The duty of care was breached; and
- That this caused some harm to you and you have suffered some damage and/or loss.

Why should you make a claim when bringing a claim for clinical negligence?
We understand that this is a very big decision for you. When bringing this claim, it may be that you not only want to obtain compensation but also rehabilitation to put you back in a position where you can carry out your day-to-day life as much as possible.
In addition, we understand that when bringing claims for clinical negligence you may also want to ensure that this does not happen again within the healthcare profession. You will want to see that those who have caused the negligence are held to account or that they say sorry.
On bringing clinical negligence claims, you also may want to raise awareness of what has happened to you and that it does not happen again.
