I want to try to resolve my family legal issues via mediation but I do not know if my partner does. Can you help?

Do not worry. It is the Mediator’s job to assess each party separately as to the suitability of mediation.  I would contact your partner and invite him into the office to discuss whether mediation is right for you both.  If it is, joint sessions can start pretty much straightaway and you will find it to be a cost effective process.

I want to leave my wife but I am worried about losing my rights if I leave our home.

Just because you do not live in a home you own does not mean that you no longer have a financial interest in the property. Even if the home is just in your wife’s sole name, you can still leave and we can register your interest in the property at the Land Registry protecting you.  If you do decide to leave, take your essential items such as personal papers, clothing and small items of sentimental value; the contents can be distributed later.
