Transparent pricing

People often worry that using a solicitor means uncertainty about what everything will cost. At Mewies Solicitors we promise to inform you what it is likely to cost before we begin.

If you instruct us to represent you, you will be kept informed of legal charges in a clear and easily understandable way.

We will not begin any work until you are happy with our estimated costs. We will be clear about when VAT is to be added.  We will also be clear about any fees that third parties may need to charge for your matter.

If you ask us to carry out additional work, we will tell you what this may cost so you can decided whether or not we go ahead.

We will also discuss with you at the outset how often you will be billed by us, so there are no nasty surprises.  Some things may need to be paid for upfront e.g. if we appoint a third party such as a barrister on your behalf.  Otherwise, billing may be monthly, bi-monthly or at pre-arranged milestones in the case.
